Rob and Tara invite you to an exhibition of paintings by John W Simpson and Ian Humphreys in the restaurant from 1st September 2017 through to mid-November 2017.

There will be wine tasting and viewing on Friday 1st September from 7pm - 9pm and also on Sunday 3rd September from 4pm - 7pm. All friends and family welcome.

Rob, Tara and staff welcome you to Podshavers Barn restaurant. We are situated at the foot of the Quantock Hills, one of Somerset's "Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty".

The restaurant itself occupies an old milking shed on a dairy farm, which is on the outskirts of Bishops Lydeard (approximately 5 miles from Taunton). It's a long open-beamed room opening onto our "unique" courtyard.

Since we opened in August 2000 it has been our aim to provide good honest food in a relaxed informal environment. We believe we achieve this by starting out with good quality produce which is cooked sympathetically, and brought to you by friendly efficient staff. All you have to do is relax, eat, drink & be merry.

And the name? - Cricket bat makers used to occupy the adjoining barn, a pod is a block of willow from which the shape of the bat is shaved!
